Hi Everyone
Just starting to organise a trip for April 25th to May 2nd next year and need some help from all you experts out there.
I have been to Vegas 4 times and have always stayed on the strip - this time to save some $$ I want to book the first 2 nights (Fri and Sat) downtown and need some help and advice on what hotel you would chose.
We are a couple both in our late twenties. We have been downtown for an evening before but that is it.
Thanking you in anticipation
Downtown Hotels
We spent two nights at the golden nugget last trip and really enjoyed it thiough the savings there will not be as much as other properties. Its nice and rather like a strip hotel downtown so it may not really be the experience that you are after, brilliant pool as well
Downtown Hotels
I stayed at the Four Queens and it is perfectly fine, not fancy, but clean. Four Queens gets good reviews on this site, as does Fitzgeralds.
If you%26#39;re looking to save some money, you might also consider a tower room at the El Cortez. Nice, large rooms that are newly remodeled and have very comfortable beds. The ElCo is two very short blocks east of the canopy.
Does anyone know if any of the nicer downtown hotels have in-room safes?
Golden Nugget, El Cortez and Main Street Station are good choioces downtown.
Places to avoid are The Plaza and Vegas Club, which are probably the worst 2 downtown.
Agree with Loomis (and we%26#39;ve even stayed at Las Vegas Club...it was clean and not problems but it%26#39;s an older property).
I would also like to add that we had friends stay at the 4 Queens and Fremont last year and said the rooms had just been renovated at both properties...so ask when you book when the rooms were last renovated to help you in making a decision.
Fitzgeralds has in room safes.
