helicopter tour

Hello all,

we did a Grand Canyon tour by helicopter with Las Vegas Helicopters Inc. We did the ';Adventure tour'; which consists of hotel door to door service. They drive you to Boulder City (20 minutes) to a private airport. They offer 3 tours:

#1 Explorer tour $329.00 (3 hours)

-fly over Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and Grand Canyon

#2 Adventure tour $399.00 (4 hours)

-fly over Hoover Dam and Lake Mead

-champagne picnic at the bottom of the Grand Canyon

#3 Sunset tour $459.00 (5 hours)

-same as the Adventure tour but fly over the Strip when dark

We had printed $50.00 off per person coupons on the internet (sorry can%26#39;t remember the website) plus I bargained with them and they offered an extra $25.00 off per person. They are very professionnal and well organized. Our pilot Bruce was very informative and explaining a lot of history as we flew over. After landing at the foot of the canyons, our pilot got a cooler out of the helicopter. It was filled with sandwiches, potato chips, soft drinks and champagne. As he got everything ready, we explored a bit. If you can, do the landing tour because there are a lot of things missed when just flying by plus standing there makes you appreciate the grandeur and beauty of this special place. They can only fit 6 people plus the pilot in one helicopter so it feels very personal.

Hey nicaribbean -

Thanks for the info! My sister and I were just considering looking into this for our trip in March. Good to know the landing tour is worth it too!

Hey, no problem! It was the best tour we have ever done. I am so happy we did that! It was incredible!

I%26#39;m glad you enjoyed your tour, but you did not go to Grand Canyon Natl Park. The area where you went is called Grand Canyon West. It%26#39;s not as scenic as GCNP South Rim, and is at an elevation 3000 ft lower then the South Rim.

Hi Bobbear,

You%26#39;re right we were not too far from the new skywalk bridge because we saw it as we flew by. I asked the pilot who owned the site where we landed and he said that this company rents it from the Hualapai Indians. I believe that the government owns the GCNP, right? We were really short on time but one day I hope to go there and visit the GCNP.

Sincerely, Nicaribbean

Bump!! This is for the lady who wants to do the Grand Canyon helicopter tour.

Sincerely, Nicaribbean

Bump!
