Have you ever tried Google Earth??

You can get a bird%26#39;s eye view anywhere on earth %26amp; zoom to pretty close distance and see what the view looked like. Along the zooming it will also show the roads, points of interest, and those ';kodak moments'; areas.

IMO the best view of the canyon on the South Rim is from the Desert View tower on the east rim drive. Each viewpoint provides a different perspective. None are bad! The accessible distance along the rim is about 20 miles. There are not only views from outlooks, but there is also a rim trail along the entire length.
