Christmas in Vegas

My family (my husband, our 3 yr old, 6 yr old and myself) are going to be in Vegas on December 23-26. I was wondering what fun things to do as a family on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day what might be open? Have been to Vegas in the past but never on Christmas. We were thinking of going to the Shark Reef, Star Trek Experience, MGM Lion Habitat, and M%26amp;M Exhibit during our stay. Thank you to all the Vegas Experts.

Christmas in Vegas

You might want to look into buying a las vegas power pass at viator.com. Your 6 yr old might make it at the Star Trek Experience but not the 3 yr old. My son really liked the dolphin and tiger habitat at the Mirage, the Wax Museum at the Venetian, the Adventure Dome at Circus Circus and going to the top of the Stratosphere. This year we are going to add the Pet Theater, SkyMania Fun Center and the Las Vegas Zoo. As far as Christmas Eve and Day goes Circus Circus Adventure Dome and the Wax Museum will be open and probably the Dolphin and Tiger habitat along with the Stratosphere. If you have a car you may want to try Las Vegas Mini Grand Prix that has a few rides for kids.

Secret Garden/Dolphin Pool(Miarge) would be nice for children. In the back of the Flamingo there are some animals- koi, flamingos, etc.

If you have a car- there is a nice laser show at Sam%26#39;s Town and they always do a wonderful job of decorating their indoor park for Christmas. You can also take their shuttle.

One of the nicest decorated places- Ethel M Cactus Garden(if you have a car). They put thousands of lights on their cacti and it really looks beautiful at night.

Here are some of the things that were available last Christmas.

Thank you for responding and the great ideas. One more question, we are staying at the Gold Coast, anyone have comments on it besides the reviews? Again, thank you for responding.

I do stay at the Gold Coast. It is a very basic hotel but very very clean and very safe. I have always found the staff to be very friendly and very helpful. It seems like they go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Any little problem I have had (and I haven%26#39;t had many) have been solved immediately. The shuttle service is very reliable. You can quickly get to the Rio or Palm. There is a shuttle that goes back and forth to the Orleans where there are more restaurant choices and a movie theater. The bathroom is very small as is the pool (which you will not be using in December) . It is not a ';see and be seen'; kind of place- many locals go there.

As long as you realize you are not going to a luxury hotel- I think you will be fine.
