Flamingo Room Rates Go Up??

I stayed at the Flamingo last April for 4 nights and paid approximately $70.00 a night - never been there, no comps. My sister and I want to make it a yearly trip and I have started looking at rates again for April and WOW have they gone up. Between $150 and $200 a night. Does this sound right? Do they get lower as it gets closer and they haven%26#39;t sold rooms? I am quite disapponted as we loved it there. Any suggestions? Thanks so much

Flamingo Room Rates Go Up??

I%26#39;m no help, but can commiserate with you. I stayed there in May 2002 for 5 nights at $35 a night (my first trip to Vegas). When I was making travel plans for my stay last April, I discovered what you did. I ended up staying at the Orleans and loving it! Although not on the strip, they have a shuttle that runs every 20 mins or so. And the price was right - around $40/night.

It seems that ALL hotels on the strip are overpriced. You know what they say about location; however, with all the construction going on the strip, I was happy to stay off of it.

I also stayed downtown for 3 nights at Golden Nugget - be sure to take a trip to Fremont Street. Headed there, myself, one week from today : )

Flamingo Room Rates Go Up??

always keep in mind that rates fluctuate widely in Vegas depending on supply and demand and conventions. Flamingo has dumped some money into remodeling their rooms and have their ';GO'; rooms which now go for a slight premium over their regular deluxe room. Prices definetly are on the rise though for rooms.. also when you%26#39;re booking this far in advance, you%26#39;re not always necessarily getting the best price possible. Suggestion would be to monitor prices and when you see them go down, then book it. Or just book it now and you can always change your res if they go down.

I dont actually think that the rooms on the strip are overpriced or the market would not sustain them. We are staying at Wynn for $159 per night this is less than we are paying for the Holiday Inn in San Francisco

Rates go up and down on all hotels, ALL THE TIME, depending on demand. Probably coinciding with a convention this year, not last

Try to plan a June trip, more low-rate dates pop up, and the pools are in full swing.

redcocomo, Have you signed up on the website for them to send you email offers? That may be the best . I looked for june and they were less. So maybe a convention your week.

redcocomo....are you looking on the website? If you%26#39;re on the ';flexible rate'; calendar where the hot deals usually show up....be aware that it ususally lists the most expensive room prices first as default (for the GO rooms). You may need to click the little box to look at deluxe rooms.

Is there a convention that week you are looking at? That seems high...be aware room rates do come down. I%26#39;ll be at the Flamingo this next week, and was able to get decent rates for my stay (and 2 comp nights) and this is when the NFR is going to be arriving...keep checking back! They normally post Hot Deals about 3 months ahead of time......

When in April? Is there a convention. Otherwise, you can get rooms for less. Be sure to click on the right side of the site for a calendar, and then click ';Hot Deals Rates';. I looked and it does look high...so I think maybe it will come down later.

Do you have a total rewards card? I followed the directions on Harrahs web site. I put in a pin number and registered. Since then, we either get a great rate, or comped nights! We stayed in Casino Windsor on november 11th and 12 free. We will be staying at the Flamingo December 15th-20th. The 15th is $98 for a saturday night and the 16th thru 20th is free. My math tells me it averages $20 a night. We budget $100 a day each. We are only gold card. Martin
