Driving from Las Vegas to South Rim Grand Canyon

Hi there,

We are flying to Las Vegas in April, 2008 and plan to drive straight to the Canyon for 2/3 nights then back to Vegas for 2/3 nights (any hotel hints for kids appreciated). We are a family of 5, 3 boys 14, 12 and 7 and are looking for a third stop for 2 nights of interest to the boys, are there any dude ranches on the way or can anyone recommend some place. Many thanks

Vegas to Grand Canyon, stay inside the park, Kachina or Thunderbird should be able to fit a family of 5. Dude ranches are mostly in the Phoenix/Tucson region, a bit out of the way. Check here http://www.azdra.com/

You may want to drive up to Lake Powell and spend some time on the lake. Or a trip to Bryce and/or Zion Nat Parks. Then head back to Vegas from there.
