I%26#39;ve read on here that the rooms that offer refrigerators have some type of monitering system that lets the staff know when an item has been removed and you are charged for it. Can you ask them to empty and inventory it when you get to your room so you can use it for what you would like in it and not what they stock? If it helps any I%26#39;ll be staying at the Mirage. Thanks in advance your your help.
Room Refrig question
You don%26#39;t use the fridges with the minibar items in them for your own storage, for the reason you mention. If you want a fridge for your own use, they will bring one up to your room, usually for a fee unless you need it to keep your medication cold in which case they will waive the fee. Suites and mini-suites generally come with the fridge standard.
Room Refrig question
No, they won%26#39;t do that, but you can call housekeeping and ask for a refrigerator to be brought to your room. Some places charge for this, anywhere from $5-15 per day for the refrigerator rental. If you tell them it is for medical purposes, most places will not charge you.
We had a suite at Mirage this had a mini bar firdge and one for us to use just as the guy above says
Lie, tell them you are diebetic and need a fridge.
don%26#39;t confuse the mini-bar (charges for what you use/move) and a refrigerator for personal use. Call housekeeping and ask for a refrig to be delivered to your room if it does not have one.
The mini-bar fridge is to entice you to pay for overpriced items and not a convenience to the customer. Ask for a separate fridge but expect to pay at worst.
If everyone lies and says they are diabetic the casinos will start charging everyone for a fridge whether it is truly a medical need or not. They%26#39;ll realize there aren%26#39;t that many legitimate invalids. Why not just ask for a fridge without lying about it.? I got a free fridge at the Mirage but yes, I really do have medication that has to be refrigerated. Maybe they%26#39;ll start supplying a fridge free only if you show them the medication that requires one.
Our room at the Mandalay Bay back in April 06 had a frig and coffee pot for no extra charge.
i can%26#39;t believe you said to lie!?!
plus as a diabetic --i need a fridge and don%26#39;t really feel i should have to pay for storing my insulin. but if i want to keep a few beers cold --a styrofoam cooler from walgreens for 3$ and ice from the machine will do just fine!
whoever said to lie to get a freebie--remember Karma!also my grandmother used to say that if you say you need something and you really don%26#39;t--then you WILL need that --i wouldn%26#39;t wish diabetes on anyone!!
or...maybe, if enough ppl would lie to get one, they might get the hint to put fridges in all rooms instead of the trouble of delivering them to everyone%26#39;s room....maybe?
