Lake Tahoe fun spot for Xmas holiday - 4 nights with Mom?

Will we be bored for 4 nights in Tahoe or should we just do San Francisco for Christmas as we always do?

We%26#39;re flying in from LA and like to go somewhere seasonal for the holidays that isn%26#39;t too far from LA. Anyone think Lake Tahoe will be fun? We wouldn%26#39;t really ski but love to dine, shop etc.

I was thinking for Christmas close to LA:

San Francisco, Seattle, Lake Tahoe, Santa Fe, etc.

I got a good deal at the Hyatt in Tahoe and fares are reasonable.

Any ideas?

Thanks!!!

The Hyatt Resort in Incline Village is a nice place to spend 4 days over Christmas, especially if you got a good deal. Great Spa and facilities.

It%26#39;s an hour flight from LAX into Reno. Rent a car and drive the 40 minutes over the mountain to Incline.

Sounds reasonable. I was just concerned with boredom but I imagine 4 days will go by relatively quickly in such serene beauty.

Thanks so much for tipping my decision!

I am sitting in Incline and can tell you there is plenty to do. No snow, but plenty to do.

4 nights with Mom? Does this mean kids? Kids will love Incline. (Theater, bowling, sledding, etc.) The Hyatt is located right on the lake and has pools, a spa and restaurants. It is a great place to walk around. Nearby are restaurants. Diamond Peak ski area has shuttles and you don%26#39;t have to ski to take the shuttle and have lunch.

A MUST! be sure you go to Big Water Grille for a sunset drink. The panoramic view is amazing. At the Hyatt , the Lone Eagle grill on the beach also has a beautiful view.

If you want an interesting walk, meander up towards the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences and visit the UCDAVIS TERC education exhibits. New, and informative. A nice walk and there is Peets coffee in the building!

Shopping is mainly up on 28, but you are only 30 mins from Summit Sierra over the mountain towards Reno. You pass a sledding area if you have kids.
