Does anyone have any suggestions of some companies to book rental cars through on the strip for a 1 day weekend? It looks like enterprise and a few others are only open for a half day or closed on weekends.

Most MGM properties have Dollar offices. Go to dollar dort com, click on ';locations'; and then type in Las Vegas for locations and hours of operation.

Try Dollar. Rent from many hotels on the strip or the airport. Check on-line. The hours of operation are different for the hotels and the airport. The airport is open 24 hours.

You didn%26#39;t say if you wanted to get it at the airport or not...if you do try Dollar, Budget , Alamo or Thrifty. Go directly to their websites to book. Otherwise, renting for a day from a hotel I don%26#39;t have any info on.

I would add one more thing concerning renting a car at a hotel for one day. As you noted, the hours are different. I asked Dollar, what would happen if I did not get the car back to the hotel drop off by closing. She said that I could just take it to the airport and drop it off with no extra charge, as long as it did not go over the 24 hours.

Obviously, you would have to shuttle or cab it back to your hotel. I would verify this before hand if you decide to do this and think you may cut it close time wise.

I would also suggest Dollar. The hours for the rental companies in hotels are shorter and they usually close an hour for lunch. Join Dollar Express online to speed things along- the paperwork will be done. Once you book online- keep checking. The rates sometimes drop and you can contact them for the lower rates or rebook and then cancel.

That is great to know I can drop it off at the airport. I wanted to pick it up on the strip and then drop it off.

You can plan it or schedule it that way also. Pick up at strip hotel and drop off at the airport.

You may also want to check prices for dropping off at the hotel where you picked it up on the next day, but less than 24 hours.

You can check this easily on-line with Dollar.

There has been one rather recent change with Dollar- they now charge $10 a day for each additional driver.

I think other companies are going to the additional driver charge too. I believe Alamo wanted $10.00 per extra driver too.
