I'm Back!

I just got back from Vegas, after having taken a red-eye flight back to Ft. Lauderdale.

Vegas was fabulous! We had such a good time, and I can%26#39;t wait to sit down and write my trip report. Until then:

1. Why does it feel like I%26#39;ve been beaten up? I%26#39;m sore, swollen, ache everywhere, and generally feel like I%26#39;ve been ';rode hard and put up wet!'; I work out 4X a week, so I thought I was prepared for all the walking and mirth and merriment, but I guess I%26#39;ll have to train harder for my next Vegas trip!

2. Some quick trip highlights:

a. Big Elvis--we saw him twice--he%26#39;s great!!

b. LOVE--awesome show, even from the cheap seats

c. the men pushing the stripper/bordello cards--why did they ';click'; every time we walked by? We stopped and asked, but they didn%26#39;t answer. I think they were shocked that 3 women actually stopped to talk to them

d. Tequila Shots at Tequila Bar in Bally%26#39;s--large jar of Patron Silver , soaking in watermelon, pineapple and gingeroot. Unbelievably delicious; it will make you do things you would never otherwise do!

e. $2 bloody marys at StageDoor Lounge, across Flamingo from Bally%26#39;s. Very tasty, interesting local characters, especially at 9 AM

f. Wheel of Fortune--I LOVE when that big wheel spins--where I and my two travel companions would stand up and scream ';Come On, Big Money';

g. Unofficial Celebrity Lookalikes--we saw Queen Elizabeth at the Big Elvis show, Justin Timberlake at Luxor, Roy Orbison at Big Elvis, John Laroquette everywhere, etc. We took pictures with them and they probably had no idea why.

h. My new favorite place--Bill%26#39;s Gamblin%26#39; Hall and Casino!

Anyway, it was so much fun, and my companions kept asking me how I knew to do what we did ....my answer--the wonderful people on TripAdvisor! I can%26#39;t wait to write my own trip report!

Until then, I need to rest, recuperate, and get ready to go to work tomorrow!

I'm Back!

Sounds like you had a great trip. Staying at Ballys in March so I will definitely be at the Tequila Bar. I will make sure to go to Stage Door as well. Looking forward to hearing the rest.

I'm Back!

I thought I was prepared for all the walking and mirth and merriment, but I guess I%26#39;ll have to train harder for my next Vegas trip!

Don%26#39;t bother! One can never train enough for Vegas! It is a one of a kind experience! And it doesn%26#39;t get any better on future trips unless you slow down. And who wants to do that?

Looking forward to your TR.

Elvis, Love, Bill%26#39;s- some of my favorites so I am looking forward to your report on them.

I read somewhere on this forum that the porn slappers weren%26#39;t allowed to speak. I don%26#39;t know how true that is.

More likely the porn slappers don%26#39;t understand or speak English, vp!

Looking forward to reading your full report, this was a fun preview!

Oh, write that report soon! And include a link for your pictures, would love to see them. Welcome back!

c. the men pushing the stripper/bordello cards--why did they ';click'; every time we walked by? We stopped and asked, but they didn%26#39;t answer. I think they were shocked that 3 women actually stopped to talk to them

The card slappers are not supposed to talk to passersby.

Thanks for letting me know about the porn slappers. I%26#39;ll post my report and photos tomorrow! :-)

Welcome back. Looking forward to your trip report. Now get some rest while you are in the Vegas Recovery Program.

sounds like you had fun , looking forward to hearing more ....... x

generally feel like I%26#39;ve been ';rode hard and put up wet!';

That is a new phrase to me....After much thought, the gentleman in me has decided that this must be an equestrian reference.

Stratton, thank you for the smile.

';rode hard and put up wet'; is a common phrase in the rural South (I%26#39;m a Cajun from south Louisiana). It refers to a horse being ridden hard to exhaustion then being put up wet (sweaty) rather than brushing him off and cooling him down.

It also refers to a person being mistreated, looking and feeling worse for the wear. In my case, the mistreatment is something I inflicted on myself, having such an awesome time in Vegas.
