monorail from Paris question

Hi, my husband will be at a convention next week at the Hilton and we are staying at Paris. He%26#39;ll be travelling back and forth at least once a day for three days and probably twice on one of the days that he has a long break during the day. We were wondering about how he should travel. Would it be worth it for him to get the umlimited monorail pass or should he just plan on taking taxis? I dont think it is walking distance, right?

Thanks.

monorail from Paris question

Paris/Bally and Las Vegas Hilton stations are connected. Monorail is your best deal especially right now they have a one day unlimited pass for $9. Even 3 days pass is only $40.

Save yourself hassle for flagging a cab down plus you add the tips on each trip, they can really add up.

monorail from Paris question

Monorail is your best bet, fast and easy to use

I would go for the unlimited so you can also travel up the strip to visit MGM and the other casinos in that location.

Don%26#39;t know what they are thinking of keeping the 3 day pass at 40 and one day at 9.

Btw the one day pass is good for 24 hrs from the first use.

We rode the monorail for 1 days and found it could be convenient for those who stay close to the stops, like is the case with you guys.

Not sure how busy the monorail gets during conventions because there did not seem to be any big ones going on when we were there and it was pretty quiet most of the times.

mikes%26#39;girl: Just keep in mind that depending on where you%26#39;re staying at Paris, it is quite the hike to the monorail stop at Ballys. The stop at the Hilton drops you off right there, but again it%26#39;s a hike to the Ballys monorail stop even if you%26#39;re staying at Ballys. There are machines to purchase tickets at both stations with a weekly unlimited ticket which might be the way for him to go if he%26#39;s gonna come home for lunch or if you are going to join him . Took a cab one time from Sahara to PH one time and if memory serves it was $12 or so plus tip.

Thanks everyone, we%26#39;ll be going with the monorail. It seems easiest and the most coft effective.

good choice. cant wait till it%26#39;s extended

The only time the monorail makes sense is if you are going from the south strip to the Hilton, convention center or Sahara.

and it makes sense when there is a good deal on unlimited 1 or 3 day pases...

The monorail is definitely the way to go. However as has been said, it is quite a hike from the front of Bally%26#39;s/Paris to the monorail at the back. It took us 25 mins from the front of the Bellagio to get to the monorail and we even wondered if we were going the right way as it took so long.

well, it may SEEM like it is the easiest - it is NOT. A taxi is much easier - walk to taxi stand at either hotel, hop in, dropped off where you want. using the monorail from paris reuires a long walk through paris and bally%26#39;s, down and around and up again. i%26#39;m not saying it%26#39;s not possible - just don%26#39;t confuse the monorail with being ';easiest';. cost effective depends on if time has a value to you - and what that is worth. yes, for 1 person $9 per day costs less $$ - the time spent using the monorail over a taxi can be significant - so a personal choice on the $$ v time issue. if this convention is business the transpo expenses will be either 1) reimbursed by party paying for convention OR 2) if he is footing these expenses tax deductible. kleep that in mind when determining cost effectiveness - certainly if reimbursed he won;t have any transpo expenses, if a tax deduction it depends on your net tax rate, a few bucks helps.
