My MGM trip report from Nov. 19 & 20

Hey everyone, here is my full report. We went on a Sunday after noon and stayed for two days. We left here about 11:30 a.m. and with a stop at a Starbucks and one stop at the In %26amp; Out in Bartstow I think, we arrived in Vegas at about 5 o%26#39;clock in the evening. This trip consisted of 3 guys. Two single and one married. I myself am single. We head straight to the MGM and check in was pretty fast and only took about 10 mins or so. We had booked the ';Glamour Suite'; at $269 a night. This is an excellent deal. Even when I was booking the deal by phone the agent said , ';Wow, I%26#39;ve never seen that room for that low of a price.'; The suite is pretty large. Lots of room. For 3 guys it was great. Had two bathrooms. One full bathroom and one half bath by the entrance. I think I used this one more than the full bath. There was a view from the living room area and bedroom area but the two areas are divided by a wall so it didn%26#39;t feel the as big. The view looked straight out to the Monte Carlo %26amp; New Your New York. Our room was on the 20th floor so the view all in all was not bad but a little far back and not right on the strip. Jacuzzi was huge. My two friends had two female friends come in on the 2nd night and all four of them were in there at the same time. They wanted me to get in but I wasn%26#39;t that drunk ....lol....I did bring some bubble bath and it worked really nice. I didn%26#39;t have that much money with me. I know sad but true so the first night I was pretty tired by midnight so I stayed in and went to sleep early. My two friends went to a strip club. I think they said Cheetas as the other%26#39;s wanted a $30 cover. I prefer Sapphire and Spearmint Rhino when I go...:=) They said it was ok....not much action going on in there. They next night we had the two females arrive and we all headed over to New York New York. We went on the roller coaster. I love roller coasters, but this thing really bangs your head around. I say that just in case you are sensitive to that sort of thing or don%26#39;t like those sorts of rides. I just wanted to get off as soon as the head banging started. So a little gambling. My friend was betting $10 chips on roulette tables and put down 3 numbers and ask me where to put the last one and I said ';17';. He hit the 17 and that pays 35-1. So his $10 bet turned in to a nice $350. He cashed out and turned around gave me $40. I didn%26#39;t have much cash on me and he said Hey, you are the one who told me to put it on that number...:=) Nice!!!! So after gambling a little we were off to the Nine Fine Irish Men. We have been there 2 times before. Very nice place. Great vibe....good people ....good food...and AWESOME drinks!!!! Between the 5 of us, four of us had meals and drinks...drinks.....and more drinks. Stayed there for about 2-3 hours. Total bill was $260 outside and went went back inside because outside was cold and the live Irish bands inside were playing so were dropped another $180 inside. I know it seems like a lot to spend but man, what a great time. We all had fun. I recommend this place very highly. Back to our suite they all jumped in the tub and had some fun. I laid down at around 4 a.m.or so. Called down in the morning and they gave us an extended time to leave. They gave us until 1 p.m. which really helped considering all the alcohol we had poured in to our system the night before. No real hang over for me though. Nobody got sick so all in all not too bad. Did not see any shows this time. I wrote on here a few days ago that I was in the sports book at the MGM and placed $150 and could not get a drink. I guess the rules are $200 min for you to get a drink card. This left a bad taste in my mouth. I spend another $80 the next day, so I had spent $230 in two days and could not get a free drink in the sports book???? Yikes. That was the only bad note. Oh, and our dvd player wouldn%26#39;t operate so I had to call someone to fix it. Two guys got it working after about an hour. If you have any questions then just ask......:=)

Wow, that%26#39;s pretty stingy in the sportsbook! We spent two mornings/afternoons parked in the Wynn sportbook last Thursday and Friday and our $5 bets got us 2 drink tickets each time. Kept us entertained for hours.

Thanks Lo, I agree who cares how much you spend if you have a great time with friends. I just slept on the couch in the living room the first night and 2nd night because of the two female friends slept on the bed. We all took the floor pretty much....lol...and yes I don%26#39;t understand the high amount for drinks in the sport book. Someone told me if you slide over in to the horse racing and place a $10 bet they give you a drink card. But still what%26#39;s with the drink cards....just show your betting slip and she can mark it if she likes but if I have 4 betting slips then I think I should get 4 drinks if I%26#39;m sitting there for almost 2 hours which I was. There is a little drink place next to the sport book so I just got up and spent $2.50 for a large coke and brought it back over with me. I also wanted to find a supervisor just to complain a little but I did not. I was was going to say hey, I have a $150 betting slip in my hand and you can%26#39;t give me a drink?????? OH, well....like I said that was the only negative thing but it was a BIG one....:=)

Sorry to hear about the sports book and not getting drinks. I had trouble getting one at the slots there too.

No, she doesn%26#39;t read this. I didn%26#39;t know they were invited. They told me they were coming as we were already driving up. I was not to happy about that. And they did nothing in the room while I was there. But still I wasn%26#39;t too happy about that. They turned out to be fun and cool girls but she knows my friend is married so whatever...if I would have known a head of time I would have said no I think I will pass on the Vegas trip this time. Please don%26#39;t think bad of me or that I approve of that sort of thing. I%26#39;m a pretty loose and liberal guy when it comes to some things and conservative on other issues. My friends went over and played the slots and got drinks playing $20 on them ...so they still give out drinks on the slots and table games. I guess they just don%26#39;t want guys sitting in the sports book not betting and getting free drinks. But what I don%26#39;t understand is that #1 - we were staying at the hotel in one of their better suites....%26amp; #2 I had the betting slips and pretty big slips to prove I was laying down some money. I really should have said something to someone. Lo, next time can you find out the deal going on there?

..ohhhh and yes, he only gave me $40 but he was already giving me other cash to spend ............I only took $200 with me and $150 went on the sports bet the first night and I couldn%26#39;t even get a drink for it...lol....:=( I tell ya....Vegas it just like anything else sometimes you are surprised at what you get and let down at other times....:=) That being said we are already planning our next trip in the summer time...:=)
