We%26#39;ll be staying in Laughlin Nov. 30 - Dec. 2, and plan to drive to the Grand Canyon on Dec. 1. Question is... is it worth the detour to go down to Oatman on the way? Seems like it would add an hour and a half or so to the trip and if it%26#39;s really worthwhile, we might as well go for it... or, since we%26#39;re only planning this as a day trip, should we skip it and head straight for the Grand Canyon? Any input is welcome!

Oatman is a great place to visit, but not on the same day as you go to the Grand Canyon. You need the to spend the complete day at the canyon to get the most from your day.

I would go a seperate day. We went last month, and spent about two hours. Think of an old west town a few blocks long, filled with tourists and shops in all the old buildings selling tshirts. The old hotel was pretty neat upstairs, downstairs had a good burger place, the walls and cielings were covered in dollar bills.There is a ';shootout'; type show they close the road for, otherwise it is open to traffic. If you are into the old west, its ok.
