Skiing December 16,17,18?

Hi! I just found out that there is a small ski resort that is about 45 minutes from the strip. They are opening this weekend for the first runs, so I am hoping 3 weeks from now, they will be operating. I am looking just to get on the slopes and have some fun, as I am not avid skiier (maybe ski 2 times per year or so). 2 questions:

1. Is there any kind of shuttle from the strip to the ski resort or should I just rent a car?

2. Have any of you skiied at this resort? and if so- how have you found it (prices/easy access/equipment rental)

Any replies, or past experiences would be SO appreciated! Thanks!

rent a car, as there is no shuttle. it just opened, and they only have 1 run open, but there are people there. expect there to be a lot more open by the time you get there.

For conditions, directions, lift rates, etc...

Its a fun and unique Vegas experience. A great way to get some fresh air, scenic panoramaa, and a little exercise in the morning before hitting the casinos.

But it is not by any stretch a top-notch resort or mountain. Perfect, however, for a relative beginner looking for an interesting diversion for a day...but not really enough to support several solid days of skiing.

Just rent a car. Check a weather station just before leaving to make sure you aren%26#39;t going to hit a snowstorm. I haven%26#39;t gone up Mt. Charleston in the winter-( in the summer it is fabulous- about 30 degrees cooler than the strip) but I know people who have taken their children there for a day of snowboarding. They all had a great time and just enjoyed being in the snow- something they don%26#39;t see that often.
