Because you will pay as much as they ask, if you really want a divorce.

But the reverse should be the same....if a person wants to get married really fast, why is it only $35? Just curious...even though I don%26#39;t intend to use the services of Clark County for either of those items :)

Filing for divorce is a court action and usually requires the services of an attorney, whereas just about any idiot is competent to obtain a marriage license without the benefit of legal representation. hence the cost differential.
