Hi, I will be in Vegas in Jan. I wanted to do a Grand Canyon tour at Sunrise.
Is this a good time to do it?
Id there a carrier that is best to consider?
Is it a worthwhile experience?
Thanks

Sunrise Grand Canyon Tour
I went last January so here are my responses.
Yes its a good time to do it as the sky is often blue, although it is cold on the Canyon floor in January.
I went with Sundance, which i booked at the link below...

Yes its worthwhile.
Its a fabulous experience.
Its not cheap, and as i said earlier its cold on the Canyon floor, but despite that its one of the best experiences i have ever had anywhere.
I have a report and some pics of my trip if you want to check out to help you make a decision.
Link below...scroll down to the Flamingo hotel room photo%26#39;s and read from there...

Hi IrelandDuf - I did the tour at Sunset .....which means the lights are coming on on The Strip as you come back...which is pretty special.
The Canyon was just amazing - a real once in a lifetime experience ...can%26#39;t recommend it highly enough. Also the colours of the desert and the rock start changing as the sun starts going down....
Some firms to check out are Sundance ( who I went with) Maverick and Papillon. All are reputable and around the same prices. Google them all for their websites.
Also search the forum here for more recommendations
Hope this helps !
Landing on the canyon floor is a clue that the tour did not go to Grand Canyon National Park. Aircraft are not allowed below the canyon rim in the park.
Make sure your tour goes to GCNP South Rim. Sunrise is hard to arrange as you would be leaving your hotel about 4 am or so, and the tour companies need a minimum number of clients. If you can, choose a tour with a ground component of a tour in the park.
Good providers are Scenic Airlines, Grand Canyon Airlines and Papillon Helicopters.
