i am leavin in a week for vegas and have a couple questions about renting a car there.wife uses a electric scooter,do the shuttle buses accept scooters?are any of the rental companies located by the baggage claim anymore,or have they all been relocated?do i have to go pick up car then circle back to terminal to pick her up?or do i just leave her at terminal???????thats a option i hadnt thought of lol

rental car question

Fred.... I think your last choice might be best. Just kidding. lol

All of the car rental companies are outside the terminal now and I can%26#39;t help but think the shuttles must be able to accomodate scooters or wheelchairs. If not, check out McCarran%26#39;s website for directions to the spot she need to be at and you need to drive to for you to pick her up.... or not. ;-)

rental car question

Hi,

I remember seeing an area on the rental car bus that has room for a wheel chair (It is in the center part of the bus). You should not have a problem with having her electric scooter on the bus. I would call the rental center just to make sure that all buses have that same feature on it. HTH Lea :)

My mum is also in a scooter and we did it slightly different this time, we hired a scooter which was about $200 for 2 weeks a smaller one than normal so it was easier for my dad to lift in and out of the trunk, we collected and dropped this back at MGM Bell desk.

I would recommend that rather than collecting the car at the airport that you should get a cab (there are allwyas cabs that have ramps to take scooters and the rank guy will call you one) to the hotel you are staying at and then collect the car from the hotel rental desk the next day and drop it back there when you are leaving and get a cab back to airport. This will remove the need to get on any busses or leave your good wife on her own in the airport, it will also remove one days car rental charges and the lines are generally shorter and it all gets dealt with quicker and at a time convenient to you. I am of course assuming that you are staying on the Strip all MGM Mirage properties have Dollar Rental cars, even are you are not at a MGM?Mirage resort you can arrange the car hire at the nearest one. If I can be of any help at all please do not hesitate to get in touch either by PM%26#39;ing me here or by email simon@vegasuncovered.com

Have fun

My Mum also travels with her own scooter. We usually rent from Dollar who do have some buses with lifts but we have always had to wait for them to bring one out of the depot which takes ages. Our preference is to either leave her at the terminal and go and fetch the car, or send her in a cab to the hotel while we pick up the car.

Our las visit was in March, before the new car rental center opened so I don%26#39;t know if anything has changed. T1 did have rental desks but you still had to get the bus to the parking. T2 has no rental desks, you just get straight on the bus.

Once, Dollar actually got someone to bring the car to the terminal for us but I think that was very much a one-off!

Hope this helps.

I am nearly positive that the buses are accessible. You can find info on the rental car facility through the McCarren website and can probably find a number to call. Even when the rental agencies were in the baggage claim, you still had to go elsewhere to get the car.

Renting a car from the hotel is an option but the cab rides to and from the airport would defeat the purpose. If you do want to avoid the bus, take a cab directly to the facility instead.

when we were there last year they brought the car to the area where the rental cars were,so it was a little easier.then when we droped off car someone drove us in the rental car to the terminal.thanks for all your help on here.

We rented a car last week and once we arrived and proceed to the shuttle bus to the rental car center, the family in front of us had a person in a wheelchair and it was no problem for the bus driver to lower the bus and store the wheelchair on the bus.

100% positive on this subject.
