mgm grand

i do not understand all the different parts of the mgm grand. the $69 deal says grand tower. is this good? what are the others, are they better? i have booked the excalibur but this seems like a more upscale hotel.

mgm grand

The first part of the MGM is the West Wing. It%26#39;s closest to Las Vegas Blvd. The rest of the huge cross that represents the Grand Towers.

West Wing rooms are the smallest rooms at 350sf. These rooms have been upgraded to the new look MGM, and have closer access to the strip. Grand Tower rooms are 446sf

Check website for floor plans.

In my opinon this is definately an upgrade from Excalibur.

The monorail also starts here with the current special of $9 for a 24 hour all day pass. Pools are some of the best in Vegas. Tons of dining choices here.

Be aware that hallways are very long. It is one of the largest hotels in the world. Maybe ask for a room close to the elevators.

For $69 at the MGM, cancel the Excalibur, run across the intersection and do not look back, even if the Excal is $49. Grand Tower is the only ';standard'; room type I will stay in at the MGM.

I agree no comparison.

MGM is your best bet by far.

Better location, better side of street, monorail, more upscale, etc.

Grand Tower - larger rooms

West Wing - modern, small rooms with 1 bed

Are the West Wing rooms nicer than the Grand Tower ones? I know they are newly renovated, they are also more expensive. About 7 years ago I stayed in a GT room (not sure what they were called then), it was a decent size but very generic.

Gabby, West Wing rooms are definitely nicer (I put pictures of both in my review that was posted last week) and although they cost more a smile should get you the ';upgrade'; for free since the MGM staff knows that most people don%26#39;t consider it an upgrade due to the size.

Grand tower has nice standard rooms, well kept and in new condition, fairly good sized

Bail from Excal ASAP, and book the great MGM

West Wing is a couples oriented remodel of the old bargain wing, Emerald Tower. King bed only. A little smaller than Grand tower rooms.

No kids in the halls, newer decor, and the elevators discharge near the buffet, Starbucks, and the strip...

but farther from pool and food court than the Grand elevators

Ditto all of the above. Just got back yesterday and will gladly stay at MGM again next trip. I remember a friend of mine telling me the pool at Excalibur is a dud. MGM, you%26#39;ll have your pick of five, I believe, and one has a couple lanes for lap swimming if you wish. Does your deal also include the $25 food credit? That%26#39;s one dinner buffet with unlimited crab legs. Whenever I walked past the seafood area (and helped myself, of course), they would be dumping tubs of crab legs onto the ice. My son liked the warm melted butter, said it tasted like theater popcorn butter! Visit the Excalibur, but STAY at the MGM.

I agree with everyone else, stay at the MGM. Just got back today, from a 4 day stay and it was very good. The Grand Tower rooms are their standard room. But they are well maintained, fairly recently updated, and have great beds. The West Wing rooms are the farthest from anything but the strip. They are very modern, hip rooms, but are very small and feel even smaller. Depending on the occupancy level at the time and if you are up to try the $20 trick, it%26#39;s very common for them to upgrade you to a Bungalow Suite. There were no upgrades available the day we checked in (so she gave me back my $20), but they moved us the next day (comp upgrade) to a suite, because our no smoking room had been smoked in. The pool area is one ot the best in Vegas and even on a crowded day we had no problem finding chairs for 4.

we are arriving about noon on mon. oct. 1. do you think we could get an upgrade? do they issue coupon books for any of the restaurants in mgm?i was devestated to read that they close the lazy river during the week starting the day we arrive. i was so looking forward to it. do you think they will extend the date%26gt;
