Count me as one who really likes the monorail. I have seen many who think it is too far to walk from the station into the casino, but honestly we have never felt that way. It just seems very convenient to us.

We allow $200 for cab fares for a 5 day stay...including to and from the airport. Cabs save time v.s. the time it takes to walk to and from the monorail and waiting. We%26#39;ve never had to wait for a cab when getting them at the hotels.

The advantage you have from the Luxor is being at the south end of the Strip the bus should not be too crowded at that point. Maybe I am not the one to answer this as I usually hire a car in Vegas, but I believe the bus would be your best bet, especially to get downtown.

You might also ride the bus to Wynn and walk back thru Venetian, etc. When you are finished see if you can get the bus back to Luxor. If it is too crowded take a taxi from where you are back to Luxor. That would be cheaper than walking away from your hotel until you get tired and then taking a taxi from a further point back to your hotel.

delboy, have you considered renting a car, or (not to sound stupid, and certainly not trying to be rude) is it too expensive or too much of a hassle since you%26#39;re from the UK? You can valet park for free (just tip).

Gee I wonder why?

I agree with the exchange rate of Euros, just wait till you get to your hotel and rent a car for those days. You can get one for about $20 US per day. Less than a taxi one-way with no limits. Parking is free everywhere, and valet parking is a couple of bucks (tip)

Sterling here old boy

We leave the Euros to the Continentals

The rental of the car may be cheap, but the insurance for us Brits is an extortion and doesn%26#39;t make it financially viable.

Why would you buy the insurance? Check your policy or CC, bet they cover it.
