Shalimar Wedding Chapel

Going to be married on October 8th at the Shalimar Wedding Chapel. Would really like to connect with someone who did so recently to find out how it really was, if there are things I should be aware of, etc. I also wondered if the webcast has worked for people. I have had difficulty even with a high speed internet connection to get it work. Would rather not even tell family to try to view if it doesn%26#39;t work very consistently. As I said, any advice would be great and would really like to hear from Shalimar Chapel alumni!! Thanks!!

Shalimar Wedding Chapel

We will be married there this Saturday at 5.30pm so I will let you know.

With the webcam, I%26#39;ve noticed that it doesn%26#39;t always work well. There are other chapels that offer a webcam, at a cost, but they don%26#39;t guarantee it will work.

Just know, that the chapel is located at the base of the Howard Johnson Hotel and doesn%26#39;t look like a chapel. If that concerns you, you might want to chose somewhere else. We didn%26#39;t care what the outside looked like. The inside looks nice and if the webcam works, everyone at home in Australia will be able to see it. I chose this chapel because of the extras, including getting the ceremony on DVD.

fluffybundles, the original poster was getting married in October of last year, so it%26#39;s a little late now to be warning them about potential problems at the chapel.

Hey Fluffy, I realize the original post is old but congrats on getting married this saturday. My wife and I were married at this place 4 years ago and were completely satisfied. We got a bunch of pictures and the web-cam worked fine for those that wanted to watch here at home. It was a pretty basic ceremony but we were satisfied totally with it. Again...congrats!!

lol. I%26#39;m on holidays as you can tell. Didn%26#39;t even pick up the details on the date.

We had a great wedding. The webcam didn%26#39;t work well but my sister paid for a 24 hour viewing and pretty much everyone we know has now caught up with it.

We were married at the Shalimar Wedding Chapel on February 16, 2007. We told all of our friends and family about the live web feed, and unfortunately everyone at my husbands place of work gathered around the computer to witness our marriage. The reason that I say unfortunately is because not only was the wedding delayed, so was the so called ';live'; web feed, and let%26#39;s not forget to mention that my husbands best friend ended up having to pay over $40 in order to view the wedding at all, which was all very confusing to us!

I really hope that it works out better for you than it did for us when it comes to the webcast of your wedding.

Other than that, the pictures were great, and the ceremonly only lasted approximately 10 minutes, if that!

Hope I was helpful!

Thanks for all your nice wishes.

I meant to post earlier but I%26#39;ve been trying to find out something, which I have now.

We took the Elvis package at the Shalimar Wedding Chapel. Their website says the Elvis will be Eddie Powers who was in Fools Rush In.

As it turned out, we didn%26#39;t get Eddie Powers, we got another Elvis and he was brilliant. Finally I found out just today his name is Kent Ripley.

If you plan on getting married here or somewhere else in Vegas and you want a great Elvis, get the chapel to book Kent Ripley. Not only is he very entertaining, he is also a very nice person. He joined us before and after the wedding, posed for as many photos as you wanted and was geninuely interested in talking with the guests. It was truly an honour to have Kent as part of our wedding.

If anyone would like to see him peform, our wedding is on youtube and I%26#39;m more than happy to provide you with the link.
