Im booked at the moment in the Orleans from 27th Nov - 6 Dec. Have just seen an excellent rate on the Gold coast and Im wondering if its worth changing hotels. Our background is couple in early thirties, we will be watching a few wranglers game in the orleans, but just want a cheap base. We will do a bit of gambling but nothing major just the slots. I stayed in the gold coast a good few years ago and it wasnt to bad.
Any advice from vegas experts????

You will enjoy the ORLEANS, rooms are clean restaurants are great and reasonable...GOLD COAST like the Orleans is owned by BOYD Gaming, one of the last Las Vegas companies that pride themselves in customer service...enjoy The Orleans, by the way for the money the best buffet in LAS VEGAS

They are both very nice, but Orleans a little better with better rooms and a little larger. Better food choices at Orleans, but it is only across the street so easy to get to. If it doesn%26#39;t bother you than stay at Gold Coast and save the money.

Boyd has taken the Orleans to a new low, and, of course, the Orleans is a mile at least from the Gold Coast...
Orleans is south east of the strip with shuttle to Bills/GC to Bills. I have stayed in Orleans w/car as it was easy to get to/from strip and outside ventures. But there is nothing close by in terms of other hotels to visit.
If I had a choice, I would probably go with GC as it has other surrounding hotels (Rio and Palms) and the shuttle straight to the center of the strip. The other posters on this site have given positive feedback for this hotel as well.
(I wouldn%26#39;t rate the Orleans buffet as %26#39;best%26#39; BTW)

I think the Orleans is a step up from the Gold Coast. The rooms are a little better and there are more food choices. If you don%26#39;t have a car you are going to have to rely on the shuttle or cabs to get you to and from the strip. Since you have already stayed at the Gold Coast you know what it is like. It hasn%26#39;t changed that much from a few years ago. It is still a basic, clean and safe hotel with good service and two nearby casinos (Palms, Rio). I prefer to stay at the GC- I like their VP machines better- but you can get there by using the Orleans shuttle. btw- I looked at the recent reviews for the Orleans and they didn%26#39;t look that bad to me. I don%26#39;t think you can go wrong with either hotel. I guess it comes down to how much money you want to save.

Lousy Drink service at the tables.
