weather in Jan

Hi All... another question.

I know the weather is not entirely predictable, but roughly whats it like in Vegas in Jan. Is it still warm enough for t-shirts during the day?

I am going skiing for a week after Vegas for 4 days and so need to pack accordingly and can%26#39;t work out what it will be like in Vegas - does it ever get cold there?

Thanks!

';does it ever get cold there?';

Vegas is in the desert. A lot of people don%26#39;t realize that deserts can get very cold in the winter. At night in January expect temps of a couple of degrees above freezing, perhaps even cooler. Daytime temps are harder to predict with anything possible from high 40s thru to mid 60s. It%26#39;s unlikely to be t-shirt conditions but not impossible. Best bet is to take clothes that can be worn in layers that can be easily added or discarded as required.

Yes, it does get cold in Vegas -sometimes it even snows. If it is cloudy and windy if feels that much colder. Average high-mid/upper 50s but the highs can range from the 20s to the 70s. Average low-mid/upper 30s but can range from single digits to the 50s.

What happens one year has nothing to do what it will be like the next year so someone telling you they were there last year and it was such and such tempereture is not going to be much of a help to you- it may be different when you are there. You are going to have to check a weather site just before you leave to find out if it is going to be in the 70s, 50s or 20s!

When going late fall/winter/early spring it is always best to bring clothes that can be layered so you can be prepared for any weather- tops with long sleeves(a few with short sleeves if you want ), a mediumweight sweater and a lined jacket.

Too funny.

A vp03 impersonation by Blagger and then the real vp03 with the standard answer. Classic.

BTW shopaholic both of them are correct and might I suggest the following website;

www.weather.com

sorry, doc! There are a limited amount of ways of saying the same thing over and over again! lol

shopaholic, Also try wunderground.com and click on the ';trip planner'; at the top...enter Las Vegas, Nv and your dates. It%26#39;ll give you the hi%26#39;s/low%26#39;s. Warning....large range of temps will be given, so who knows?

VP, you%26#39;re always too kind when this question comes up. Very nice of you to answer with such detail.

Doc....loved one of your past replys to a previous poster who asked what the weather would be like in LV and you stated....no, but can you tell me what the weather is going to be like in (his town) during that month? Priceless....and very funny.

Thanks.. I have been trying to check the climate details, on places like weather.com, but I find that they often give different info one site to another!

I was struggling to work out what is most likely!

Thanks
