I am a big CSI fan! I am wondering if they really shoot scenes in Las Vegas?

Some in Nevada and some in California.

They definitely don%26#39;t shoot them all there. A recent episode showed Bally%26#39;s next to Mandalay Bay.

Now that show has really jumped the shark. Most cases are turning in to Scooby Doo endings. Wrap them all up in the last 2 minutes.

Tough to claim the franchise has ';jumped the shark'; when they own spots 2 (Vegas), 9 (Miami) and 13 (NY) in last week%26#39;s Nielsen Ratings, I%26#39;d say they continue to feast on the shark at this point in time....

But with the exception of the aerial panoramas, a few shots occasionally on the Strip or (more likely) Downtown to establish authenticity, it is shot and canned in LA.

Haven%26#39;t you ever noticed how often it is raining (or just rained) in the episodes ? If it had that much precipitation Vegas wouldn%26#39;t be a desert.

Also, the hills have waaaay too much vegetation (and are typically too green) to be in the Vegas valley area. Any native can recognize the locations they use in LA and Orange County for most of their outdoor scenes.

The crew comes to town once or twice a year to do some local shots. Other than that all shot in hollyweird.

They%26#39;re going to want you to stay tuned after CSI tonight.... they are premiering the new show that takes place in Laughlin at 10pm. Now who%26#39;s going to report back and tell us if they really shoot ~their~ scenes in Laughlin? :)

we watched them shoot a scene last year it was the one with the 70%26#39;s gangster Micky Dunn no big stars but it was quite exciting when it was screened to think that we were there i am a big fan of CSI.

I heard most Vegas-based tv shows are filmed in Newark, NJ........lol :-D

I am a P.A on CSI. The exterior shoots you see at the beginning of the show were shot in Vegas. However he show shot in LA. Another show, ';Las Vegas'; on NBC is shot in Culver City, CA. They recreated a Las Vegas casino inside a old warehouse. Very Cool!
