North West / KLM from Gatwick anyone ?

We visit Florida every year with the children and ALWAYS fly with Virgin and are happy with that. However it%26#39;s just me and DH flying to Vegas in just over a week and this time we are flying with NWA / KLM . I have no idea tho what these flights are like: individual tv%26#39;s ? inclusive meals ? friendly cabin crew etc?

Any help greatly appreciated ! x

North West / KLM from Gatwick anyone ?

If you mean by ';inclusive'; that you won%26#39;t have to pay extra for meals then yes, that will be the case. As for the friendliness of the crew, I don%26#39;t think you can expect anybody to be able to predict that for any given flight.

North West / KLM from Gatwick anyone ?

WhenI said that you won%26#39;t pay for meals, I was referring to your international flight. If you%26#39;re connecting to Vegas from within the US this probably won%26#39;t be the case. Check the airlines%26#39; websites.

If you take a look at your ticket or reservations online, there should be some kind of indication of the aircraft you%26#39;ll be flying. (ex. 747-300) Once you have that information, go to www.seatguru.com and checkout both airlines for amenities, seats, food, etc. on the aircract they%26#39;re using for those flights.

Thanks for that will check out the website.

We are flying NW/KLM from Gatwick to Minneapolis then change and on to Vegas. Staying with same airline the whole trip. x

You will not pay for meals on the international flight last time i flew NW/KLM (it was about 6 years a go) there were no seat back TV%26#39;s nor actually drop down LCD%26#39;s only the one at the front. There was however far more leg room than on Virgin.

I had alook at the above mentioned web site :

www.seatguru.com and found seat maps of the aircrafts and in flight entertainment etc and im now releived..... They do include meals and soft drinks and each seat has a personal tv. The movie list is actually very impressive. All in all im hoping for a quiet relaxing flight (if there is such a thing) ! :) x

We got fed up with having to watch second rate movies on planes and invested in an Archos personal Video reocrder the first one cost £400 butnow on ebay you can pick them up for around £100. Personal DVD players are not so good becasue of the battery life. The Archos allows to record TV, DVS o paly downloaded films as well as listen to MP3%26#39;s and look at your holiday snaps, you can even plug your camera straight in to it and copy the pictures off of it to free up your memory card. THe Archos AV 500 60GB I think is the best all round value and you get8 hours of battery life.

Hi

We have flown with KLM/Northwest and I am sorry to say these airlines or Northwest is now way down on my list of carriers. We flew from Norwich on KLM to Amsterdam where we picked up our international flight which was fine on a modern updated plane. On return we had an awful transatlantic plane(DC10), to start with they tried to seat the three of us in three totally area%26#39;s of the plane even though we had prebooked seats. As my son was only 13 at the time we did make a fuss and they did sort out two seats together. The only entertainment was one screen at the front of the plane which was impossible to see, just as well we were trying to sleep and not on our way to LV and too excieited to sleep! The food was not very good either but edible. I can%26#39;t remember if we had any free food on the domestic leg but transatlantic you will.

I hope they have got rid of their old plane%26#39;s and you get a good one with all the personnal entertainment TV%26#39;s, get your selected seats and my unfortunate flight was not a regular thing just bad luck.

Flew with NWA to Gatwick to Vegas via Minnaepolis and it was fine so much so that doing the same flight again on Saturday! :D

The Gatwick to Minnaepolis fight was only half full and is going to be similar this weekend so in many cases people can literally lie across the middle bank of seats to stretch out and sleep should you so wish.

The Minnaepolis to Vegas flight was packed when we went and was quite loud in a worn plane but by then just too exicted to care. Prices is very good though not sure what you got but both times (Feb and this week) costing me £ 660 for 2 adults return

For the portion of your flight from Milwaukee to Vegas they will sell food boxes (not worth it), cola and other non alcohalic beverages will be free. As far as the plane for that portion it is good and bad. There is no movie normally and they planes are normally older. We fly Northwest from Detroit 1/2 of the time we fly and it is just due to cost.
