Checked out of Bally%26#39;s wednesday morning 11/21 around 10. Went to the taxi line because I had too much stuff to walk it. Got in a taxi immediately and had a lady driver. Asked me where I was going and told her ';Wynn'; and she looked very annoyed. Asked her if there was a problem and she tells me she thought I was going to the airport because she saw my luggage and that%26#39;s where she really wanted to go because she had to pee. Now mind you, there is construction on the strip from Casino Royale down past Venetian with the Venetian portion being the absolute worst. It goes all the way down to one lane becuase of their additions to the hotel.
I tell this womans shouldn%26#39;t she be taking the back roads instead of getting stuck in this mess. She tells me it would take too much time to go all the way back around. It took 20 minutes to go from Bally%26#39;s to Wynn. The entire time in this car all she did was complain about having to pee and how poor she is because America is so expensive and tourists are cheap and she has to send most her wages back home to help feed her family. When I asked what country that would be, she said ';That%26#39;s not important, they don%26#39;t understand how expensive it is here';. You know what, you don%26#39;t like get out and go back to where you came. No American is forcing you to stay here and send our dollars back to some foreign country. I was so annoyed at this point that I could barely breath. Finally arrived and the meter was at $13.70, so I gave her $15 and said have a nice day. I am not that cheap, but listening to her going on %26amp; on was jus too much. Sorry for the rant.
Anyway, got on line in Wynn and was checked in about 15 minutes. Had a room on the 60th floor witha stunning view of the strip and the mountains. Unpacked , then went down to start gambling and check out the no-cocktail rumors. I wasn%26#39;t seated more than3 minutes before a c.w. was at my side and she returned with my drink within 10 minutes. That was pretty much the way it was, so I don%26#39;t know about the stories going around about not getting cocktails there anymore. I certainly had no problem, either on the casino floor or in the bar.
Played various games but hit the most on American Original. Cashed out with $344 after a $20 investment. This seemed to be my good luck trip, God knows I haven%26#39;t had this kind of luck in years.
Wednesday was not too crowded in the morning and afternoon, but by that night......wow, it was packed.
Wednesday night I was at a machine in the area of ';Blush'; I think it%26#39;s called. Anyway, was at a machine when all of sudden there seemed to be some sort of commotion. I look around and see a group of about 9 - 10 people, like 8 guys and 2 girls. All the guys are wearing those ridiculously large jeans that hang of their hips, so that we can all look at the buttcrack, and the baseball hats backward. None seemed to be older than 21 or 22. One girls sits at a machine and puts in some money and the rest split up in groups of twos and just watching the people. It was very weird and a tad uncomfortable. I have never seen anything like that in Wynn before
After 10 minutes or so of watching them and their demeanor I decided to changes my location. Pre-conceived notion due to the clothing - maybe, it was more the standing around in groups of 2 eyeing everyone and speaking in a foreign language. As I was walking to another area, I saw my c.w. talking to a guy at a slot machine and pointing in that direction. He was nodding and
and cashed out and left. I went back about 15 minutes later and all these kids were gone. So I don;t know what it was all about. Too cowardly to find out.
Did pretty good on the slots that night, was up a few dollars.
Thanksgiving morning took a walk down to see how much the breakfast buffet was going to be $34.95. Yikes, it%26#39;s bacon, eggs, muffins, dude. Get a grip, but there was a lot of people waiting. Not me, don;%26#39;t even remember where I went for breakfast.
Thursday the casino was kinda crowded, but still doing o.k. dollar and cocktail wise.
Went to the sports book to place a bet on the Dallas Cowboys, been a fan since 1970. I was going to place $200 to win, but chickened out at the last minute. I%26#39;m a terrible fan, not having the confidence in my boys against the JETS!!!!!! If DH was with me he would have talked me into plus more. It%26#39;s just that everytime I bet the %26#39;boys they don;t beat the spread. Oh well.
Thursday night I passed the buffet. You could not believe how many
were lined up to get in. i would say at least 200 @45.95 a head is a tonnage of money. I think they are all crazy, but to each his own. I had a sandwich from zoozoocrackers which was just fine by me.
Checked out 11/23 for my trip back to reality. Airport wasn%26#39;t nearly as crowded as I thought it would be and was thru security in less than 15 minutes. Flight took off on time, was quiet and uneventful.
People watching:
**I can%26#39;t believe how many kids were there that week. It seemed worse than summer vacation. The parents are out %26amp; about dragging these little ones past 10 at night. Kids are crying, but parents are clueless. Why do the do that? Is gambling so important to them? I don;t get it.
**AT Harrah%26#39;s I was in the ladies and getting ready to come out of my stall when I hear some guy yell in there ';Janey, lets go for crying out loud';. I come out and so does ';Janey'; yelling back at him, ';Oh Jesus f**** Christ, give me a minute, your penny slots aren;%26#39;t going anywhere'; I thought I would crack up right in her face. These people were not kids either in 60%26#39;s - 70%26#39;s.
**In Paris, walked into the restroom (again) and found a girl puking
in the sink. There were at least 25 stalls within 10 feet, but no she was hacking into the sink, holding her hair back and letting it rip. What a site.
That%26#39;s about it. I had a great time, weather was good, drinking good,
and definitely the gambling was good to me this time.
Already thinking about going next year.
Any questions, please just ask. I;m sure so much more happened but these were things that stuck in my mind.
Have a nice day.
Trip Report - Part 2 - Wynn
Interesting report, also amusing to a certain extent. Weird about that group of young people, would hage bothered me, too!
Trip Report - Part 2 - Wynn
A sandwich for Thanksgiving dinner? What a bummer! Harrahs, Paris %26amp; Wynn don%26#39;t discriminate......class-less travelers are welcome everywhere (God Bless America).
You didn%26#39;t get enough points for a free Wynn buffet for Thanksgiving?
Wonderful TR. I love the people watching observations on both.
Too bad about the taxi driver. She just doesn%26#39;t get it......people are so cheap because she complains about people being so cheap....not to mention complains about everything else. Add rude to the mix and I think you may have over tipped her....lol..
Your story about the kids by Blush reminded me of these two ';ho%26#39;d'; out girls I saw near there one night. The conversation I overheard was classic. Something about how they hadn%26#39;t seen each other in forever amd how one lost weight. She said she didn%26#39;t but thanked the other girl, and the other girl kept going on about how chubby she used to be. It was a hoot!
Just for clarification. If I am not mistaken, the only way you do not get free drinks is by sitting at the bar playing video poker. This I am not a fan of, but you still and like always receive free drinks playing slots or tables outside the bar area.
