advice please

i am supposed to go to vegas this weekend but a friend of mine backed out and now i have my ticket and no one to go with me.

should i still go? do think it will be horribly boring if i go by myself? i ahve never traveled anywhere alone before.

I go to the SEMA show with my husband every year and he mainly conventions, eats and sleeps so basicly I do nearly everything alone and love it. I go where I want, do what I want, gamble what I want and drink what I want.

I frequently go to Vegas alone- by choice!! Of course you should still go! Why wouldn%26#39;t you go? You can have a complete Me Me Me vacation- doing what you want to do, eating where you want to eat, going to bed and getting up when you want, etc. You won%26#39;t have the- where do you want to go? I don%26#39;t know, where do you want to go?- bit to cope with. With all the things to do in Vegas you can%26#39;t possibly be bored or lonely. Just do what everyone else does. The fact that you are alone should not influence you in any way. Gamble, drink, go to the bars and lounges, see the attractions, eat at some great restaurants, see some shows, get a spa treatment, shop-the list is endless. People are friendly and it is easy to start a conversation and make new temporary friends! I can%26#39;t think of even one moment in Vegas that I was bored or felt lonely.

It doesn%26#39;t matter that you haven%26#39;t traveled alone before- you have to start at some point and Vegas is a good place to start!

Where are you staying? People on here could give you ideas of things to do alone if maybe we know where you are staying. I met tons of people in different casinos at the video poker bars. It seems sitting at the vp bar drinking gets people to talking and visiting with you.

I agree with the other posters! Definitely GO. Are you male or female? Nervous or just not sure if you%26#39;ll have a good time?

Solo trips can be wonderful - different but wonderful in their own way. You are on your own schedule...free to do whatever you want, when you want.

not 100% sure where I would be staying i am getting it comped so most likey mirage or caesars......i have stayed at caesars before. just didnt know how it would be sitting at a bar by myself, i guess it is vegas and anything goes....still a tad bit timid but you all are making me feel better.

its hard to justify leaving my little girl and husband for alone time, but i deserve it, its just scary- i sound like a big nerd!

I am from the Dallas area also and I guess I am too used to going to happy hour and not mind walking in and sitting at the bar by myself until coworkers get there. Vegas is a very friendly town and get your feet wet at the video poker bar and friends will be talking to you in no time.

I also love to shop by myself in Vegas as my husband is not a shopper and doesn%26#39;t get it.

well eating alone in a restaurant sounds very depressing. i%26#39;d prob find another friend and drag them along. but i guess you can always just eat in the room...

its just scary

Many things are scary the first time you do it-that is to be expected! But once you do it you realize you worried over nothing! Nothing bad is going to happen and you are going to have a great time. Just think of all the wonderful things you are going to be doing, the wonderful food you are going to be eating and all the fun you are going to have. And you will have fun- I guarantee it. Everyone deserves to have some ';me'; time in their life. This is your ';me'; time so make the most of it!

yeah i wouldnt eat out by myself . but i think i could build up courage to go by myself, once i am there i am sure i will be fine its just thinking about that scares the crap out of me!
